It's important to know that I work on a fee-for-service basis, meaning I will bill you directly at the time of service. This is done via the credit, debit, or health savings account (HSA) card you place on file with my practice. You may then choose to seek reimbursement from your insurance company if out-of-network benefits are provided under your plan.
I will provide you with a specialized monthly statement with all the necessary information to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. If you want to be reimbursed by your insurance for my services, I strongly encourage you to contact them before you schedule an appointment with me so that you fully understand your out-of-network benefits.
It's also important to keep in mind that in order for your insurance to reimburse you for the cost of therapy, I may be required to diagnose you with a mental disorder. You and I can discuss this more at your first session.
